The tour departs from our Office at 87 High Street, Edinburgh at 09.30hrs. We drive through the centre of Scotland admiring the beautiful scenery arriving at Perth (known as the gateway to the Highlands) for our morning coffee stop. We rejoin the coach again and after a short drive we arrive at Blair Castle, the Castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Atholl for over 700 years,
Set in dramatic scenery and magnificent grounds, it commands a strategic position on the way to the Highlands of Scotland. To the skirl of the pipes, guests can visit more than 30 rooms of the castle. The rooms contain a magnificent collection of art, furniture, china and arms. Blair Castle is also the home of the Atholl Highlanders, Europe's only remaining private army. Lunch will also be available at the Castle Restaurant (not included in the price of the ticket). We leave Blair Castle at 14.00hrs and make our way to our next stop at Blair Atholl Distillery in the Highlands town of Pitlochry. this is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. after a conducted tour you can mull over the distinctive character of the finished article as you enjoy your complimentary dram.
After a pleasant day sampling Scottish Hospitality, we arrive back in Edinburgh at 18.00hrs by way of the Forth Road Bridge where you can view the magnificent Forth Rail Bridge. The tour ends on Waverley Bridge.
