Set in dramatic scenery and magnificent grounds, it commands a strategic position on the way to the Highlands of Scotland. To the skirl of the pipes, guests can visit more than 30 rooms of the castle. The rooms contain a magnificent collection of art, furniture, china and arms. Blair Castle is also the home of the Atholl Highlanders, Europe's only remaining private army. Lunch will also be available at the Castle Restaurant (not included in the price of the ticket). We leave Blair Castle at 14.30hrs and make our way to our next stop at Blair Athol Distillery in the Highlands town of Pitlochry. This is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. after a conducted tour you can mull over the distinctive character of the finished article as you enjoy your complimentary dram.
After a pleasant day sampling Scottish Hospitality, we arrive back in Edinburgh at 18.30hrs by way of the Forth Road Bridge where you can view the magnificent Forth Rail Bridge. The tour ends on Waverley Bridge.
