From Edinburgh we proceed to Glasgow, we then travel north to PERTH and then to the picturesque town of BLAIRGOWRIE, famous for its linen production at the end of the 18th Century. We continue north passing BRIDGE OF CALLY, beginning our climb of the spectacular GLEN SHEE (from Glen Sith, the Fairy Glen) towards BRAEMAR and DEESIDE. By the time we reach the Spital of Glenshee we are around 2,000 feet above sea level. Look out for ptarmigans, the wild mountain birds of the Highlands.
We arrive at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park where your visit to the Braemar Royal Gathering begins. International athletes, Scottish Pipe Bands and teams from H.M Forces performing in the Tug of War Championships are just some of the events you can enjoy, as well as the special atmosphere of the games.
In late afternoon, we start our descent back to Glasgow and Edinburgh via Perth.
